We think politics runs societies. It really doesn’t, it’s recreational team sports overlaid upon material realities. It’s those realities that determine what happens. Every progress is just a response to reality smashing us out of our status game slumber. Galileo knew it. 1/6 https://t.co/oTsPJLvrtu

What I call reality politics. Which isn’t politics at all, humans have a whole variety of Premier League team sports they perform every day, believing they’re shaping reality. They’re just playing status games. The outcome will be largely out of their hands. 2/6

That 4-pronged reality apocalypse of the first half of the 20th century. WW1, Spanish Flu, the Great Depression and WW2. Those catastrophes broke existing status hierarchies, allowing massive social change. Reality did it, not humans. 4/6

I don’t come here every day to root for this or that team to win over this or that other team. Who wins those games is irrelevant. Reality wins. Always. It will kill millions of us if we refuse to see it, it has no feelings. /end
