We need to take back control of the overall narrative of this pandemic. That we’re now living with Covid because anything else was impossible. That outcome, that surrender, was planned from the start and succeeded. It was politics, pure and simple. /1 https://t.co/esYY1cLbE0

The history is clear. At the beginning of this pandemic both the US and UK refused to do basic public health, because of leaders and their parties whose political libertarian views were fundamentally at odds with anything public at all, including public health. /2 https://t.co/BrWdkhE2ye

While nations like China, Australia and New Zealand activated standard public health strategy, of control of spread of infection, in the US and UK, the true vanguard of public health vandalism, parties in power continuously resisted any such action. /3

That resistance seeded the global pandemic, filling aeroplanes with Covid and spreading it globally. That period in the red circle was why we’re now living with Covid. Oz and NZ (and other countries) completely flatlined with cases, while the US and UK were breeding the virus. /4 https://t.co/HMGI5jnjKu

And you can see that breeding, how it created multiple epidemic explosions of cases. None of this was inevitable, if these leading Anglo powers hadn’t chosen to lead the destruction of public health practice, the virus, like SARS-1, could have been geographically contained. /5 https://t.co/3xXvBvElAT

It could have been controlled, the world would not have had a tsunami of infection to then try to deal with. Blame should always be focused back on the politics in play here, and its bastardisation of public health basics, mostly with slogans. /6

How modern libertarian attack politics always works, cheap slogans to bind people together, while the public infrastructure that had actually coordinated their collective lives is dismantled. The pathetic eagerness to describe Covid as ‘just like (seasonal) flu’. /7

When of course novel pandemic pathogens are nothing like seasonal infection. But that’s slogan politics, grab a piece of known experience and extrapolate it well beyond anything that’s real. It’s exactly like fires, if you put them out early and fast, they don’t spread. /8

The completely dysfunctional politics of the UK and US, failed States now collapsing on nearly every social measure, created this pandemic. Not the virus. Accountability must still come for this hijack of basic democracy. /end
