It’s feudalism, not fascism. My theme for several years now (just saying). It absolutely matters that we diagnose things correctly.
These are fundamentally different things. Also this piece’s solutions to me are nonsense. /1

There is no solution to feudalism, it’s the default social form in history. It will *always* return via the back door, if you kick it out the front.
It just won’t be recognised, because the labels will have changed.

Humans will always create hierarchical societies, with a King or equivalent at the top. Hierarchies of status.
Status in turn creates identity. It’s how people are somebody, rather than nobody.
/3
That’s why (the mechanism for the millionth time) they join groups (teams), and battle others in the team for status, and then other teams for the same.
Team sports. Status games. Also the business model for social media, which has caused a rapid return of naked feudalism.
/4
Trump always was the social media President. He and his team live and think entirely within social media platforms.
Their enemies and ‘policies’ are defined by their social media activity. They OWN social media, literally. It’s why they own it.

We’re all living inside Tolkien’s title, The Return of the King. That’s what this point in history is.
The dissolution of ‘democracy’, really just a repair job after WW2 driven by public institutions, created to do the repairs.
/6
The ‘economy’ folk were really the old feudalists, who used that econo-babble to undermine public institutional life.
They called it ‘red tape’. It was a spectacular success, and achieved exactly what they wanted.
/7
The return of feudal hierarchies, rather than governance by public institutions.
Fuck off with all your ‘fascism’ memes. Your childish, ignorant social media team sports.
You’re the problem.
