After spending several years here writing about the idiot
‘team sports’ of social life, where you back a position inside a group or team, and then battle other teams, it apparently astonished some people that I made a material decision that ignored all of that team sports. /1 https://t.co/sYhqd3zcBD
I can only emphasise again, if you want to change the world, get back to reality. Actual *material* change. Not symbolic posturing, in your team, against other teams.
Who wins elections is irrelevant to our future. Only material change is relevant. /2
If a person, in this case Musk, goes into bat for the appalling stupidity of Trumpism, that’s terrible.
But if his cars and other technologies fundamentally undermine existing status hierarchies, which are dominated by fossil fuel interests? /3
Go with the material change every time. All the ‘politics’ is meaningless, populist hot air. Trumpism will be gone in 4 years, ineffective in 2, together with its billionaire barnacles.
But material changes will persist. /end
