Here’s a fun status game from the UK. Uproar over the Labour Party there now modifying the tax-free inheritance on farms, introduced to help sustain the industry. ‘Tax-free’ attracted the wealthy like flies are attracted to a pile of shit. 1/5 https://t.co/niyDRsEFXU https://t.co/FCvUEAfddl

Just as they’ve been attracted to tax-free super here, turning it into an astronomical tax avoidance scheme. In the UK this drove up the price of rural land enormously, as the wealthy ploughed (ha) their ample spare dollars into England’s verdant green. 2/5

And in true 21st century fashion, this re-focusing, which will reportedly impact only a few hundred tax avoiding ‘farmers’, has been re-cast by them as an assault on ordinary farmers. Crocodile tears about the nobility of ‘growing food for England.’ 3/5

Who hasn’t seen this same strategy used everywhere now, the actual elites portraying public administration as ‘elites’ robbing ‘ordinary people’? You’d think we’d call out this shit by now. 4/5

It’s the sort of thing that eventually emptied the thousands of aristocratic villas in the French countryside, as they were led off to the guillotine. /end
