This is the new power demographic in politics. Young men. Often driving utes. And towing stuff.
Unpacking status hierarchies. /1

In all of the Anglo countries, this is the hot demographic that conservatives are targeting.
Women of all ages mostly don't vote for the Handmaid's Tale version of reality conservatives are selling. /2 https://t.co/YuqSP17GyF
But young men are being seduced by these narratives. Often 'tradies' i.e. the old blue-collar workers, people who historically often voted for the 'Left'.
But conservatives figured out how to land these fish. /3
Mostly by turning them into a 'team'. A group told that their rights and freedoms are under threat.
From women. Greenies. Government. Etc. 'Toxic masculinity' is as much a political invention as some cultural baggage. A deliberately engineered anger. /4
We've all grown up seeing most politics targeting the biggest voting bloc for most of our lifetimes. Boomers.
But they're being slaughtered in the millions now by Covid, and we're allowing it. Telling us their demographic is now political road kill. /5
Conservatives in the US, UK and Australia are targeting young men. They don't hide it.
Politics isn't even a thing. It's a name for the battle of competing status groups. A social battle. /6
These ridiculous modern utes for example, hopeless as utes, and as road vehicles, and and for towing, are now an epidemic.
They're young men's GI Joe toys. One of the main glues that binds their status group together. /7 https://t.co/DJPdIFtFvL
Several leading Australian politicans have referenced the ute and the tradie explicilty. Again, they're not hiding what they're doing.
We see in the current US election this playing out even within relationships. /8
Women encouraged to vote differently to their men. A probably large determinant of victory in the election will be how many women come out to oppose the tradie/ute group and their angry passions.
And how many will 'stand by their man' instead. /end
