The word ‘fascism’ is bandied about freely here. Like fairy tales for grown-up.
Nobody implements fascism. Fascism is a product, not a mechanism. It’s the endgame of populism.
The stripping away of all hierarchies of authority, in favour of one Great (popular) Leader. /1 https://t.co/sYKPuZc1xk
A fascist leader is just a monarch, without robes. One supreme authority, without checks and balances.
The idea of a ‘Big Brother’ watching you is absolutely not what fascism is. There are no -isms, of any kind. /2 https://t.co/eHXAcbrXhV
There’s no capitalism, socialism or communism either. These are just team names in our team sports.
All peoples of all countries are playing the same game. They don’t have different operating systems, where somebody plugs in a different -ism. /3
All peoples of all nations just exist socially. Using the same basic social mechanisms. People imitate one another, in following or emulating a high-status individual.
That’s as true in science as it is in politics. That’s what peer review is, for example. /4
In our supposedly ‘capitalist’ societies, nobody acts like they’re living in a ‘market’ at all. It’s a complete fantasy.
Things trend, they go viral, our nations are driven by influencers, which is then described as an ‘economy’. /5
There is no economy either. There are just people, acting socially. That’s all societies EVER are. Everywhere.
The communists in China are just their influencers. Go and find me the input port where you can plug the ‘communism’ USB in. It doesn’t exist. /6
Ideas like ‘authoritarianism’ are the same. The MAGAs and their Supreme Court have just this week pulled off breathtaking acts of suppression that would make the CCP blush.
It’s all just social games. The same social games, everywhere. People and groups battling for status. /7
We label these groups with names that hide the same underlying mechanism. All of those lazy -ism words.
Cultures are teams of ever-varying status, battling for supremacy. Team sports, as I call it. It’s why we love actual team sports. It’s our culture. /8
All of these supposed analytical categories, the -isms, are just ways to generate team sports. To pretend Chinese people are somehow fundamentally different to us, for example, so we can fight them in our teams.
Now Western nations are emulating Chinese Big State economics. /9
But Western economies have alway been Big State too, there are no economies without States. The pretence of out time that the State gets in our way has just driven the essential SOCIAL ordering role of the State, to China.
Its Big State is doing the work we won’t do. /10
It’s building our cheap renewables technologies, and EVs, so we can continue our team sports at home on those issues.
If we would just recognise that all people, everywhere, are only humans, doing very human (social) things, the world would be much clearer to us. /11
Rather than our daily cops and robbers, goodies and baddies team sports, with ‘fascists’ and ‘authoritarians’ and ‘liberals’ and ‘terfs’, etc.
All childish comic book games. We need to grow up.
