Chronic infection interests me, as a major (dominant?) cause of chronic disease. I seem to be a carrier of HSV-1, have had the odd cold sore since my teens. Would really love to be free of it. There doesn’t appear to be a way? Once pathogens move in, you’re often stuck with them.
