Some actually believe this is a winnowing process, the 'democratic' sorting of the wheat from the chaff. It's nothing of the sort, reality knows what needs doing, and it always has its way. The team sports is the gaming of a s(election) mechanism. /4

Invented in the 19th century, and not even much use then. It's toxically useless now. Societies are now so complex in the material-technical sense, all the ideologies that fire up the team sports are as relevant as lettuce on a Bunnings sausage. /5

Nearly everything we urgently need done is stuff that just needs doing, and will end up done anyway, after we detour through pointless years of political team sports, wasting vast money to bolster individual political careers. Covid will be the same, it will be controlled. /6

Not because 'Left' or 'Right' think it should be, but because REALITY already knows it has to be. Societies won't continue to function, without that control. We will of course kill and main millions arriving at that revelation. Because deep down most love the team sports. /end
