Both Covid and climate change are symptoms of a stalled industrial revolution. The last industrial revolution was a response to desperate social need, it was a social movement. We misunderstand it as ‘economic’. Massive social problems are what create ‘economies’. /1 https://t.co/ebwoGMsHT8

Fixing Covid and climate change will make ‘the economy’ (if you must use the word) take off. Look at what the last industrial revolution did. That revolution was a response to centuries of social problems, it liberated us from age-old problems. There are no economies. /3 https://t.co/biftVXrtxr

There are just societies. Societies that fix massive problems prosper in unprecedented ways. Look at the graph! The people who profited from that last industrial revolution are hindering the next one. We can tell them to get out of the way of ‘economic development.’ Flip it. /end https://t.co/VnMYHSQYJB
