In the TGA weekly report today: "With the ongoing risk of COVID outbreaks in Australia and the potential for severe long-term effects or fatal consequences of infection, the benefits for the AstraZeneca vaccine continue to outweigh the risks." 2/n

Is the TGA actually quantifying the former risk, of outbreaks? Given that risk of adverse vaccine event is actually quantified. Serious question - can a regulator make a judgement like this, without doing at least some form of assessment or calculation of outbreak risk? 3/n
