I paid for my own shingles vaccine doses (Shingrix) a couple of years ago, because I’m not yet old enough to qualify for the subsidised shots. I get every vaccine I qualify for, because I strongly believe infection is the cause of most acute and chronic human disease. Including the biggies, like heart disease, neurological disease, and cancer. Vaccines for one disease often offer cross-protection for others. The flu shot drops your risk of heart attacks by 25%. And the shingles vaccine is proving to be just as powerful against dementia. Civilisation is the control of infection. People who tell you we should happily live with infections are far more dangerous to you and your family than other fake threats used to scare you, like immigrantion.
