“It’s a shame Germaine Greer’s insensitivity on issues of deep vulnerability so often gets in the way of her ability to start public debates about difficult issues.‘ I would rephrase that as “it’s a shame those who criticise Greer for insensitivity don’t actually read what she writes.” For example Greer doesn’t say unwanted sex in marriage is rape, she says if you define rape as absence of consent, then unwanted sex becomes rape. Nice to see the conversation on consent has at least started.
