Metrology isn’t well known. It’s the science of measurement. There are lots of debates about how ideas and words and numbers and theories ‘apply’ to the world. None of them do. Metrology is what builds the bridge between words, numbers, theories and ideas, and everyday life. Metrology is also *hugely* expensive, it’s worth checking out just how much it costs society.
