The famous Le Mans 24 hour race introduced hybrids just over a decade ago, thinking it would just be a good way to say they were doing their bit for climate change. The hybrid won, and hybrids have won every race since. F1 cars are also hybrids. I’d never buy a straight petrol or diesel car again, I couldn’t bear the clunkiness of them. All that ridiculous gear changing to try to keep the engine in its best power band, by revving the crap out of it. Hybrids glide along the road, with power and torque on tap at every speed, effortlessly. While burning half the fuel.
