Buzz Aldrin, second man on the moon, was born two days after my dad. I post him here to ask the question, what great human project are we engaged with today, that rivals the moon landings? I want to highlight how our horizons have been forcibly shrunk to our own individual lifestyles, focused on ourselves. That shift is political, the shift away from any public ambition, to lives that feel more like being stuck on a cruise forever, if you can get time off from a meaningless job.
