Extinction Rebellion will probably be in the news a lot this week. I know some really believe protest raises awareness - it must to some extent. But for me again the bad guys are winning because only they have sat down and thought about how to talk to people on the other side in persuasive ways. Progressive people are idealists, they think their cause is so noble, it just looks after itself. When it doesn't, they throw a tantrum, like these protests. So I think they need to do 2 things. Learn to persuade again. And if they want direct action, join a union and do it at scale, the only way it will have an effect. Stop being so bloody pure and righteous and start thinking and fighting.
