My great friends Ben and Jane are about to release a book. A book that should revolutionise how we think about babies, and how they mature and develop. Challenging the dominant ‘dyad’ view of attachment theory that babies form a dominant binary relationship with one person, usually a mother, and use that as a springboard for their whole development. Jane and Ben show that in reality, babies from a very young age delight in having multiple interactions, including with other babies. That they communicate prolifically without any necessary preference for one ‘attachment’. Ben and Jane can correct any of my errors of understanding!
