Easter has a message for everybody I think, its true original message, before religion got sidetracked around belief in things. Where did the message get lost? I think the message of Easter is that what we see as some individual’s finite life, and death, are just moments in the wider movement of life itself. What some call the circle of life. Life itself is eternal, it goes on. We have ancestors and descendants, we inherit and pass on traditions. That wisdom has been largely forgotten in our forgetting of tradition and habit. Tradition and habit are the eternal aspects of our lives, which we increasingly sacrifice in favour of our individual ‘lifestyles’. The circle of life has become an extended straight line, an attempt to find eternity in a single, botoxed, age-defying life.
