“Researchers say it's time for travellers and governments to rethink long-haul travel.” Have been saying this for years. Makes you about as popular as haemorrhoids. Travel is the most stupid and destructive part of our entire culture. Accumulating ‘bucket lists’ of ‘sights’ trashes those locations, and is driven by our total inability to stay home and just be. Stopping the game of travel musical chairs would force us to confront ourselves, as a culture. We’re desperate to avoid that.
