In the UK the social media idiocy is focused on split-system AC. The fossil fuel industry there sponsors the BS, just as they sponsor a lot of the anti-EV BS here. You can see how how they shape their strategy by country, nobody gives a flying fig about reverse-cycle AC here, but the English are awash with ridiculous gas boilers to heat their homes and water. So they sponsor anti-EV rubbish here, and anti-AC rubbish there, to scare the simple-minded.
