If you are somebody who believes the economy exists, a simple question. How can an economy and peoples' health end up opposed? I think what we call the economy is just a set of transactions between people. What people actually mean when they say 'the economy' is a particular set of dominant, established transactions that favour certain people, and which can be disrupted by an event like Covid-19. They're not opposed things, you can choose to ignore peoples' health in favour of those dominant transactions, or you change the way the transactions are done and you protect both.
