It’s easy to see this as just an isolated issue. But it means something much wider. It means public health itself, which covers a whole range of diseases, has been broken by a social media culture that prioritises only what trends, often for about 10 minutes. I can’t emphasise enough that the public health gains humans made through the last century were humankind’s greatest ever achievement. It doubled our life expectancies almost within a single person’s lifetime. Not medicine, public health. CONTROL OF INFECTIONS. Now all being unravelled by social media culture and its influencers and their followers, in super fast time. Society is eating itself.
