I learned a big thing today. I would never have learned it without AI. The skin is often neglected as a vital part of the body. Very few people look after their skin well, women much more than men. The basic act of moisturising, for example, the whole body, particularly in a culture that strips skin of essential oils daily with hot showers and baths. But that wasn’t the big thing. There are much better moisturisers to use, I learned that, and men should be using them as much as women. But the big thing was very different. The skin is a barrier for the body. Skin that is sensitive or irritated isn’t just dry and itchy skin, with eczema and dermatitis and the other symptoms of that. It’s a barrier that isn’t protecting the rest of your body. And what that can do is leave a person feeling permanently exposed to external threat, literally on-edge, anxious. Their nervous system is under continuous assault. This is a known thing in dermatology, but not widely known by the public I suspect. Very many people diagnosed with things like anxiety may simply have lost the barrier protection of their skin, leading to a constant assault on their nervous system from external stressors. One of the most incredible things a good moisturiser can do for a person is to make them feel calm, for this reason. They’ve closed the door to the continuous assault on their nerves from outside. Dermeze is a ripper, gold standard. Rub it in everywhere straight after your daily shower or bath.
