Remember the fight over the NBN in Australia? That was entirely Tony Abbott trying to protect Foxtel, for his mate Rupert. Murdoch knew the NBN would open the door to streaming platforms into Australian homes, directly undermining Foxtel’s business. So we got Abbott’s crap NBN. It didn’t save Foxtel, which I have and enjoy, but it’s way too expensive now and doesn’t offer anything that others don’t, for much less money. Another positive may be the demise of the ‘SKY at Night’ cast of whining old men who exert far too much influence on Australian politics.
