Multiple families I know struggling with multiple infections. Conjuncitivitis and tonsillitis common. Hand, foot and mouth disease too. And others. Many when I talk to them repeat the slogans politicians created to deal with this, ‘the kids weren’t exposed to these bugs in lockdowns, so now they’re all catching up with infections’. What’s called the ‘immunity debt’ idea. Immunity debt is a myth. Political spin. Getting conjuncitivitis and tonsillitis for example doesn’t give you immunity to getting them again, over and over. These families are sick because they’ve had Covid, and Covid has damaged their immune systems, making them more susceptible to other infections too. What’s scary is that they’re all lining up for even more Covid infections, following the other myth that this will give them immunity, to Covid, eventually. It won’t, it will just keep trashing their immune systems. Some will never recover.
