Tesla is about to open the factory for mass production of its semi. It'll be able to build about 50,0000 trucks per year. The semi does over 800 km in range. China has been building thousands of electric trucks per year already. The 'electric can never replace diesel' myth is gone. Electric trucks are far superior for hauling, with minimal maintenance, no pollution, no huge amount of gears for drivers, and instant maximum torque from 0 rpm. Drivers who trial them never want to go back. Very timely given the current energy crisis, where we're reminded again how fragile our communities are, being so dependent on energy from a tiny part of the world. All completely avoidable with renewable energy and electric motors. Iran has apparently begun putting mines in the Strait of Hormuz, which would be a nightmare to clear. This could lead to long disruption to world energy supplies.
