If the BYD Shark is a Ranger/Hilux/Navara/BT-50/Amarok killer, the BYD Sealion 6 is a Toyota RAV 4 killer. The RAV 4 is a huge car internationally. The Sealion 6 is so much better it’s embarrassing. The motoring experts who review it call it a faultless car. They can’t find one fault with it, see the video below. It will do 92km all-electric driving, before you even need the petrol, something the RAV 4 won’t. In other words you can drive it as a full EV with no fuel costs, for most everyday driving. Its acceleration of 0-100 in 5.7 seconds is way beyond the RAV 4. Its fitout is luxury, and even has a full glass sunroof with motorised shade. It costs $10,000 less than a similar spec RAV 4 hybrid. It costs $25,000 less than a similar spec Mitsubishi Outlander. (And when I say similar spec, there is no similar really, no other car in this segment comes close to the technology or luxury on offer, even in their top spec variants.) BYD is even giving buyers $2500 cash back. BYD is a revolution for Australian car buyers.
