You can see this right now. The same people who won't trust the experts on climate change, because it means interrupting 'the economy', are the same people who trust the experts on Covid-19, when they can make them say 'the economy' is suffering. I'm sure we can see their true belief that they never waver from - the economy. Unpack it just a little bit further and you always find 'the economy' means the status quo - who's making money from the current set of arrangements.
