Remember when Bob Hawke was criticised for promising that no Australian child would be living in poverty within a very short time? If he’d said ‘old person’ instead of child, he’d have actually been right. To this day people seem oblivious to the perversity of the old and retired being richer than working-age families. That’s kidult culture, again, I’m afraid. Maximising returns and fun for you personally, at every age. No idea of service or sacrifice, or maturing and taking on guidance roles.
