Re-using this graph to counter another slogan, 'when the sun doesn't shine and the wind doesn't blow'. This is a full 24-hour period. 2 is day time, and thus the huge surge of solar in orange. 1 and 3 are night time, and are dominated by wind power (green). Wind blows 24 hours per day, and is even stronger at night. This is why the wind farms morons are trying to block are so important. There's also a huge amount of battery storage currently being added to the grid, to capture some of that orange to use in the green times as well. But we need much less of that than people think, because of wind. And because we're mostly asleep at night and not using a lot of power.
