Virologists like Teng say this so that people understand Covid won’t just go away because we ignore it. Even though the measles vaccine gives near sterilising immunity, and catching it does for years too, we’re still fighting measles. The Covid vaccines are nowhere near as good as the measles vaccine. Catching Covid gives you no real immunity from it. And Covid is a much more dangerous disease.
