The 'NSW Government’s Stronger Country Communities program' is a vote-buying slush fund, as most grant schemes are. Government first strips essential funding, then hands it back in much smaller novelty cheques precisely targeted at marginal electorates and towns. Lithgow is the most marginal town in the Calare electorate, so gets a fair bit of slush.
