Upgraded home storage. What I love about Tesla is the software, though the hardware of their batteries is also still the best out there. And sexily functional, at a time most batteries are using plastic, Tesla is still metal and glass, great for longevity. It uses intelligent algorithms, if you ask it, to minimise any money you’ll have to pay for electricty. It monitors the weather for the next day, and decides how much sunshine there’ll be, then looks at your electricity rates, like whether you have time of use rates that vary in cost according to time (as we do). Then it calculates how much you’ll need for the next day, and stores only that much and no more using overnight cheap power, to save you money, leaving spare capacity to charge during the midday free period, and from solar etc. I asked AI to calculate roughly how much charge the batteries would need to hold by morning to minimise our costs. It said 45%. This morning what level are the batteries on? 44%.
