'The economy' may be humankind's most lethal invention. If you don't believe that, remember that your life apparently needs to be 'balanced' against the economy's needs. Life and death, you don't get more lethal than that. Use your eyes, pious, boring men in suits believe in the economy. It's what makes them rich.
