Ideas are my passion. Not least because I think they’re the most dangerous things in the world - they determine everything that happens. Avoiding them just allows bad ideas to win. Most commonly we’re told to ‘just do it’, to stop thinking and start acting. Problem is, all action is driven by ideas - you can’t do ‘it’ without an idea of what ‘it’ is. G.K. Chesterton saw the danger very well: “Ideas are dangerous, but the man to whom they are most dangerous is the man of no ideas. The man of no ideas will find the first idea fly to his head like wine to the head of a teetotaller.”
