Humans are said to ‘cheat’ in relationships when they ignore their commitment to a person. I’d suggest that our travel culture should be seen as cheating on our landscapes. Space for us is just different coloured areas on a map, new places to ‘see’. There’s no real connection to those spaces. We live in our maps.
