A surprising number of educated people will tell you the real problem in the world is over-population. The actual story is much more interesting. From 1950, the huge increase in world population has had NOTHING to do with extra babies being born. It's entirely due to fewer children dying. (Before 1950 about half of all children died.) The world population growth rate peaked in 1962. It's been plummeting since.
