Probably the first time a manufacturer has re-invented a market segment with a vehicle at their first try. You can do most of your driving in this car at full-electric, never needing to spend a cent on fuel. About 80km of full-electric range. And 800-900 km of range when using the hybrid system built in. Superb and refined ride and acceleration (quicker than a Ranger Raptor), with luxury interior. For 10-20 thousand less than its competitors. There’s really no reason to buy any other dual cab ute. Except for extreme off-road types who want a rock crawler. Other utes will tow 3.5 tonnes (the Shark does 2.5), but no dual cab should be towing 3.5 tonnes anyway, it’s dangerous madness. BYD is calling that out, putting engineering ahead of marketing. As a family car far better appointed and comfortable than any other dual cab as well, with fantastic off-road capability to boot.
