BMWs have auto-emergency braking as standard. The driver obviously had it switched off. Something he can contemplate as he spends the rest of his life in jail, a tragedy in every way. I always have all the semi-autonomous driver assist stuff turned on, except in very rare circumstances, like gridlocked traffic.
