All political movements are grounded in promoting particular interests. I think this helps focus what we see in politics, always look to the actual interests involved. The ALP: - is the oldest political party in Australia - is the oldest political party organised by workers in the world - is the oldest social democratic political party in the world, and - was the first party to win a majority in either house of parliament, in 1910. The LNP is a coalition of two separate parties that have almost nothing in common, set up by existing vested interests in business and agriculture, to counter this workers' movement. Organised wealth counters organised labour.
