I find this sort of thing amusing, when guitarists aren't really musicians and go down the rabbit hole of scales and modes and have no clue about actual melody and rhythm. People get lost playing the same pentatonic scales over and over, it becomes a prison. Play songs, play melodies. Make the guitar a voice. No amount of playing scales or modes or anything else will create music. Start where you want to end. Playing songs and melodies will automatically teach your fingers where to go.
