You really can’t ever know another person. But what if we changed the way we framed this - what if people aren’t there to be ‘known’, they’re there to be interacted with? People are always what they do, not what they say. When we don’t do anything with people, we open up that gap that allows us to be shocked when their ‘true colours’ emerge. But would we have seen those colours a lot earlier, if we’d spent more time relating to them? On the flip side, do we spend way too much time pondering who we are ‘inside’, when who we are is what we do, not what we think? Trying to find yourself in what you think is probably a black hole, with no way out except getting back out into relationship with people and things.
