Re-watching Smokey and the Bandit (Kell's idea). Bit of fun, Jackie Gleason steals the show. The same theme runs so deep in America, over and over again. The man against the establishment. Got me looking at road fatalities in the US today, and how they lag the world badly on every measure, for all the same reasons they can't deal with Covid-19 effectively. The desire to be 'free', of themselves, collectively. There ain't no squaring that circle. https://usa.streetsblog.org/2018/12/13/why-the-u-s-trails-the-developed-world-on-traffic-deaths/
