The two great 'authoritarian' powers of our time are Russia and China. Both regimes are the product of democratic revolutions, people uprisings. In both cases local people imported Western ideas about democracy, to run their revolutions. It won't be Trump that converts the US to a dictatorship. It will be the idea of 'the people' running countries.
