A picture speaks a thousand words. This is such a common understanding of feelings and emotions. I find it perverse. All context stripped away, leaving just some set of feelings inside us. If you had a rock in your shoe and it hurt, would you take painkillers all day for the pain? No, you’d take the rock out of your shoe. We’ve turned feelings and emotions into separate stand-alone things.
