Sometimes the dots all join. The appalling response of the majority of the developed world to the pandemic, millions using it as a platform for individual grievance, is matched exactly by how people post to social media. They see the whole world as their own feelings. The fragile narcissism of it all stuns me every day, a society that goes into the foetal position with the slightest challenge, and no sense of the collective at all.
