I was laying in bed this morning looking up at the ceiling fan, and realised it’s been running non-stop, for days, to provide gentle airflow. Completely silently, without fuss, using hardly any power at all. And it made me think again about how beautiful electric motors are, and how crazy humans were to sideline them over a century ago for combustion engines. Imagine a 2-stroke ceiling fan, as a contrast.
