Novated leases are a massive government subsidy to petrol and diesel vehicles. Good to see them under the spotlight, so we can finally start to get affordable full-electric vehicles in Australia. We have 3 decades of corrupted government by lobbyists to strip away. There is not one way in which being dependent on a fuel source from the Middle East that pollutes horribly is a win for Australia. Watch this space, once we’re all driving blissfully silent and clean electrics, with much more grunt than puny combustion drivetrains, we’ll wonder what the hell we were thinking keeping 19th century technology for so long.
