Chinese whispers. All meaning is the meaning made by the person receiving a message. All messages are translations, even in the same language. An extension on the idea that you can’t ever really know another person - you also can’t ever be really understood by another person, the meaning of what you say will always be made by them, not you. I think school teachers know this better than anybody. And I think the world would be a better place, if we acted with this truth in mind.
